- The Tensor Chip
Google had announced the inclusion of the Tensor chips in the new Pixel series in early August 2021. The chip is named after the processing units that Google uses in its data centers. The chip, fully known as Tensor SoC, is one of its kind. The chip focuses hugely on AI and machine learning, revolutionizing how we use our Android phones.
The chip will significantly enhance your camera performance as well as your experience of editing blurry images. An extremely blurry image of someone’s face can be quickly sharpened by this phone’s advanced AI just by recognizing that the picture has a face in it. Similarly, you will see advanced auto-adjustments in the camera while recording videos for capturing stills.
From white balance to exposure, everything will be accurately controlled by the Tensor chip. This is referred to as computational photography. With Google’s Pixel 6 technology at its best, the Tensor chip will also enhance Google Assistant’s performance. Text-to-speed functionality, as well as voice commands, will become much more sophisticated on the new Pixel series.
This chip enables many such functions of the phone. It is a tough competition for the latest iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic chip. Both these chips are focused on improving machine learning and artificial intelligence in smartphones.
- Design and Appearance
The biggest highlight of the Pixel 6 is its design and appearance. For starters, it is available in three beautiful colors, including a subtle pink, a pale green, and black. The colors even have interesting names given to them. These are Kinda Coral, Stormy Black, and Sorta Seafoam. Each of these colors is very decent and not too sharp to look odd.
Its rear has a matte glass finish, with the dual camera placed on a black contrasting colored bar that makes it more detailed. The camera bar has a glossier finish. On the front, the screen has almost curve-like edges, extremely thin bezels that give it a sleek look. The thin bezels also enhance the selfie experience as the display becomes more immersive. The display of this phone is 6.4 inches. It has very thin power and volume buttons on one side.
The display has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. This is ideal for streaming and watching content on Netflix or any other platform in high definition. As long as you are equipped with a high-speed AT&T Internet plan, you will be able to make the most out of this large and crisp display on the Pixel 6.
- Camera
The camera in Pixel 6 has seen a significant bump when compared to previous models. The phone is equipped with dual cameras that are placed on a black strip on the colorful glass rear of the phone. The two lenses included are wide and ultrawide lenses. Compared to these dual lenses on Google Pixel 6, the Pixel 6 Pro has 4 lines instead. An additional telephoto lens is included that changes the game for many photographers who might be looking forward to using this phone.
- Battery
When put against the Apple iPhones, the battery life of android phones is always in the lead. Of course, there have been significant improvements in the battery of the new iPhone 13, but do these improvements have anything to do with the Pixel 6 battery?
The Google Pixel 6 comes with a non-removable lithium battery. It is rated to be 4600 mAh and is also equipped with fast-charging technology. You can enjoy fast charging with a 30W charger or a 21W wireless charging option.
Final Opinion
The Google Pixel 6 has many significant upgrades to look forward to. The dual-lens, 5G connectivity, and 1080p resolutions are not very huge since these were available in previous models as well. The phone will run on Android 12, but the biggest highlight is its chipset. The Tensor SoC is where all the worth lies. For Android lovers, this new chipset will be a big game-changer.
